TRUSTS AND FOUNDATIONS

We operate as both a funder and a recipient of funds. Collaboration with other Trust and Foundations takes place in several different forms, such as match-funding, because we understand the importance of working together and sharing resources to shift the needle when it comes to lifting the aspirations and prosperity of those in the UK and worldwide.

The Foundation for Children works to improve the lives and reduce the suffering of the most disadvantaged young people in the UK and around the world by supporting them directly or working with outstanding charity partners.

The FFC delivers life changing initiatives as we believe all young people deserve a brighter future and the FFC helps to address disadvantage and reduce suffering. We do this through our Forgotten Children programme which typically works in partnership with other charities focussing their efforts in a similar field.

Within the FFC we have worked over many years to support more than twenty organisations that work to reduce poverty and suffering for young people and have made over Β£500,000 of funding available, supporting thousands of young people across the world.

The Clare Foundation was able to support the Peter Jones Foundation with a grant to help young people in Buckinghamshire develop enterprise skills and an entrepreneurial mindset. This was with a focus on driving participation from Bucks schools in the Peter Jones Foundation Tycoon Enterprise Competition. Mike Clare joined Peter Jones to meet students at Wycombe Abbey School to find out more about some of the projects.

THE CLARE FOUNDATION

Mike Clare, Founder and Chairman of The Clare Foundation said:

β€œI have known Peter for many years and share the entrepreneurial spirit so was delighted that through that shared vision, we could provide a grant for young people in Buckinghamshire to develop their skills, knowledge and become young entrepreneurs. I was also happy to have met students from Wycombe Abbey School at a recent event and hear all about their projects.”

The Commercial Education Trust is an independent grant-making charity, originally established by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry. CET has a vision of a society in which people have the knowhow, skills and opportunity to succeed in work, thereby creating a thriving UK economy. CET works with a range of charities and organisations, encouraging the development of commercial education from primary school level through to higher education. The Trust has supported initiatives that help schoolchildren prepare for the world of work, assisted higher education and vocational institutes to deliver employability and enterprise education, and funded programmes which bring together the worlds of business and commerce with teaching and education. CET plays a proactive role in developing projects to achieve maximum impact and measure success through evaluation, as well as encourages the sharing of best practice.

COMMERCIAL EDUCATION TRUST

Mahad Ali, Executive Director said:

"We are on a drive to improve the Commercial Ability of young people so they can actively understand and learn the skills, attitudes, and behaviours they need to gain and thrive in a fulfilling career. Our work with PJF helps to do just that by encouraging Britain's young people to achieve their potential through entrepreneurship."
