Peter Jones Foundation Launches Tycoon London Competition in collaboration with Odin Partnership

We are delighted to announce a collaboration with Odin Partnership to establish a league for schools taking part in the Foundation’s flagship Tycoon Enterprise Competition. The initiative will initially focus on schools in Central London, engaging students in Key Stage 5. At a later stage, there are also plans to open the opportunity to younger students and establish the competition as a hotbed for the capital’s young entrepreneurial talent.

This exciting initiative will give students the experience of setting up and running a small business with a goodwill loan from the Foundation, equipping them with the practical skills, knowledge, and experience needed to thrive in the modern business world. As well as being part of the Foundation’s national Tycoon Enterprise Competition, the Tycoon London Competition will give the young entrepreneurs taking part the opportunity to compete on a local level, benefit from workshops run by the Foundation and pitch their ideas to a panel of experts including Odin Partnership’s leadership team.

Launched in 2012 by renowned entrepreneur and star of Dragons’ Den, Peter Jones CBE; Tycoon has supported thousands of students to launch their businesses and gain invaluable skills. The collaboration with Odin Partnership will help the programme have an even greater impact in the capital, bringing together students from both independent and state schools.

Managing Director of the Peter Jones Foundation, Bill Muirhead said:

“We’re thrilled to be working with the Odin Partnership as they share our passion for supporting the next generation of successful entrepreneurs and business leaders. We’re looking forward to seeing the business ideas the students come up with and believe the Tycoon London Competition will go from strength to strength.”

Omar Davis, Founding Partner at Odin Partnership said:

“We’re delighted to be supporting this initiative and helping young people from all backgrounds to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and the practical skills needed to be successful in the modern workplace of today.”

If you are a school in London and interested in participating in the competition in September 2025, please contact tycoon@pjfoundation.org.

About the Peter Jones Foundation

The Peter Jones Foundation exists to improve the socio-economic outcomes for young people by equipping them with enterprise skills to better prepare them for successful employment or self-employment. We do this through encouraging, educating and empowering the young people we serve.

The Peter Jones Foundation was founded in 2005 by successful entrepreneur and star of Dragons’ Den, Peter Jones CBE. We believe that with the right mix of support and opportunity, every young person has the potential to achieve great things.

To achieve this, we deliver world-class enterprise education initiatives within the UK and across the world. It is our aim that 60% of the young people we support are from under-served and under-represented communities.

We encourage students to form their first business and compete with other student teams through our flagship program, the Tycoon Enterprise Competition, which now has an international arm with schools in the UAE as well as China taking part.

We educate students through our suite of accredited courses and qualifications in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship developed with Pearson, at Level 2 and Level 3, through both the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy (PJEA) and as standalone qualifications. We also offer A Level in Business Studies and Economics to school and college providers.

We empower our graduates by supporting them into various pathways such as to start a business, secure a job or an apprenticeship, or a place on a Higher Education or Further Education programme of study. Through our Alumni platform, we will offer graduates access to mentoring and tailored graduate resources.
